About the North Queens C@Psite

In 1998, the North Queens Heritage Society received a grant from Industry Canada to set up a place where people in the community could obtain free internet access . This grant was given under a program called the Community Access Program (C@P), and so the access point is referred to as a C@P site.

The C@P site turned out to be quite popular, with many users coming in for internet access. Organizations came in to have brochures done up. All sorts of people took advantage of the color printing and scanning services that the C@P site provided. By the beginning of the summer of 1999, the C@P site had become quite busy.

Since 1999 the North Queens C@P site has been expanding. We have built this webpage that you now find yourself on. It tells you almost everything about our area that you could possibly want to know. In addition to the webpage, we are taking steps to expand the C@P site in order to provide even more computer services and internet access to the community.

If you would like to comment on the North Queens C@P program or find out more about it, please e-mail us here at nqheritage@auracom.com
